Before joining Improving Lives, Della worked closely with children, teens, adults, and their families in individual and group settings. Della’s experience specialized her in working with clients who went through traumatic experiences and want to begin or continue their path to healing. Trauma-focused therapy is an approach that focuses on understanding how a traumatic experience impacts a person’s mental, behavioral, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. Della implements cognitive-behavioral (CBT), dialectical-behavioral (DBT), trauma-informed (TIC), and multicultural therapy when working with her clients. Della’s theoretical framework is mainly guided by Resilience and Cognitive theories. Della meets their clients where they are at and moves forward towards healing and liberation.
