Anais Torres is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor/Licensed Professional Counselor and Qualified Supervisor, who has been in the mental health field for approximately 18 years. Anais received her Masters in Clinical Psychology in 2008 as part of a doctoral program. Anais' training and background was in medical psychology through the lens of psychodynamic theory. She completed her practicum and pre-doctoral internship at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where she worked on psychiatric inpatient units and conducted consultation and liaison work with the medical-inpatient population. She was later introduced to the field of eating disorder treatment over 11 years ago through her role as a recovery coach at Oliver-Pyatt Centers (now Monte Nido Miami). Anais went on to work for Monte Nido for many years in various roles, including Clinical Director of their day treatment programs, both in person and virtual. Combining her background, different roles and the treatment of eating disorders, she has been able to marry her background and knowledge with the deep need and understanding of mental health disorders and how to best treat them from a multidisciplinary model. Having worked in all levels of care from inpatient through outpatient, she is able to fully assess and ascertain a client’s symptomatology and closely monitor them throughout the course of their treatment.
Anais founded Braving Vulnerability Counseling in 2018, where she focuses on her passionate treatment of eating disorders, mood & anxiety disorders, PTSD and suicidality.
Anais currently serves as President for International Association for Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP) Miami chapter. Her hope and goals include more advocacy, the opportunity to spread more knowledge and awareness, and to connect with fellow providers in our collective mission.
I'm always looking for new and exciting ways to help. Let's connect.
